Kevin told Richard and me that when his daughter was ten years old, he brought her to the Gulou English Corner. After 18 years, he came back again. Regardless of his gray hair and wrinkles of age, his passion about English remained relentless. In spite of his high status and pension, he kept low-key and mild-mannered. Richard, recommended to join event by Hanks, accompanied Kevin almost from start to finish. Jimmy, whom I hadn’t met for several years brought his wife and daughter, Jerry, who became increacingly enthusiastic about English brought his wife, Allen, who was fond of communication and sports brought her client to join the event. Shane showed me his FUJI camera from his quaint bag. Shan just arrived at Nanjing from Shanghai in the afternoon and showed up at night. Sherman came to Nanjing every once in a while, then he wouldn’t give up the chance of talking and sharing distinctive insights in English. Several youngsters in their prime knew and joined the Gulou EC from RED. Some parents stayed quiet to let their children concentrate on studying English and drawing pictures from Lucas. Besides, frequent visitors like Danny, Lorenzo, Anning etc. made the activity more lively! After the event, Mario and I exchanged English punch lines to enjoy ourselves to the full.
